Job summary

IBM Software in Canada is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and operate internal platform services that boost developer experience and velocity. You will own multi-tenant, scalable components and collaborate with peers across DevProd and partner teams to deliver reliable tooling for CI/CD, testing, and developer portals.

You will prototype AI-assisted workflows, automate tests, and contribute to culture through documentation, on-call participation, and mentoring.

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD in CS (or equivalent) and 5+ years in software engineering.
• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems and reliability.
• Proficiency in Java, Go, Python; experience with CI/CD, containers, and IaC.
• Demonstrated ownership from design through rollout with milestones.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate internal developer platform services with reliability and scalability.
• Improve pre-production testing capabilities with automated performance tests.
• Explore AI-assisted workflows for developers and productionize valuable ones.
• Deliver end-to-end projects with documentation, training, and rollout plans.
• Contribute to team culture through on-call participation and code reviews.
