Job summary

CAE's Technology & Product Development team is seeking a software developer passionate about automation, platform engineering, and continuous improvement. The candidate will combine strong coding skills with platform administration and leadership to raise the team's maturity.

You will design and maintain platform services, automate operations, build self-service tools, reduce technical debt, and mentor teammates while driving efficiency and scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software development, platform engineering, DevOps, or a related field.
• Experience developing and maintaining production-grade applications or services.
• Experience with CI/CD and software development platforms.
• Experience building automation solutions and integrations.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, APIs, and development best practices.
• Experience working with cloud and container technologies.
• Experience with Terraform Cloud, Kubernetes/OpenShift, Ansible, Github (including Github Copilot), Azure

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain platform services, automation solutions, and internal engineering tools.
• Improve and support Developer Platform platforms and SDLC tooling.
• Automate operational processes and eliminate manual work wherever possible.
• Develop self-service capabilities that improve developer productivity.
• Identify and reduce technical debt across platform solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex platform and integration issues.
• Contribute to platform architecture, standards, and engineering best practices.
• Mentor teammates, share knowledge, and help grow the technical maturity of the team.
• Challenge existing processes and propose innovative solutions that improve efficiency and scalability.
