Job summary

Scotiabank in Toronto is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to drive hybrid cloud platforms across on‑prem and public clouds. You’ll own architecture, build scalable Kubernetes clusters (Rancher‑based) and lead IaC, CI/CD, and governance to deliver secure, reliable production systems.

You will collaborate with enterprise teams to ensure data, analytics, and applications run efficiently while optimizing costs and resiliency in a fast‑paced, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in infrastructure, platform engineering or cloud architecture.
• 5+ years designing and implementing cloud solutions on-premises, GCP or Azure.
• Experience building and operating on-prem Kubernetes clusters.
• Strong hands-on Kubernetes experience (GKE/AKS) in production.
• Experience designing hybrid cloud architectures.
• Strong background in Terraform and CI/CD automation.
• Demonstrated leadership, mentoring engineers and guiding technical direction.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, and delivery of hybrid cloud platforms across on-prem and public cloud.
• Architect, build, and operate on-prem Kubernetes clusters managed with Rancher.
• Design and oversee managed Kubernetes platforms in the cloud (GKE/AKS) for production workloads.
• Build and operate cloud-native and serverless solutions using cloud services.
• Architect and optimize data and analytics platforms (BigQuery, Azure data services).
• Establish IaC (Terraform), CI/CD pipelines, and automation standards.
