Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Planner/Scheduler to join its Energy & Resources team. You will develop and optimize schedules across complex engineering, procurement, and construction, serving as a trusted advisor to project managers. Travel to sites in Canada and the U.S. is expected up to 15-20%.

The role requires a strong background in CPM scheduling, earned value, and project controls, with the ability to lead scheduling efforts from early phases through commissioning and closeout.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Project Controls, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of planning and scheduling experience on large projects.
• Experience in Energy & Resources projects (mining, power, renewables, industrial facilities, infrastructure).
• Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6.
• Strong understanding of CPM scheduling, schedule development, and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of integrated project schedules from concept through execution and closeout.
• Develop EPC, commissioning, and startup schedules using Primavera P6.
• Establish baseline schedules, logic, milestones, and resource needs.
• Collaborate with PMs, engineering, procurement, and construction to create achievable plans.
• Support EV management, progress measurement, forecasting, and reporting.
• Mentor junior planners and promote scheduling best practices.
