Job summary

Niagara Escarpment Commission is seeking a Senior Planner to lead planning activities within Ontario’s unique environmental landscape. You will provide strategic support, guidance and leadership to program delivery and permit assessment, while building strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.

The role requires deep knowledge of land use planning, environmental policy and Ontario legislation, with a track record of consensus-building and effective communication in hearings and committees.

Qualifications

• experience in land use and environmental planning and management with ability to interpret and apply related policies, principles and guidelines to analyze proposals

Responsibilities

• provide strategic support and planning expertise to program development and delivery
• lead and coordinate an integrated team in evaluation and processing of permit applications and land use planning approvals
• develop and maintain relationships with organizations, governments, Indigenous communities and stakeholders
• lead and represent the Commission's interests in meetings, hearings, and committees
