Job Description

Your role within the team:

• Reviewing the status of existing buildings prior to project design, performing site take offs.
• Assist in developing and implementing project specifications, piping standards, and guidelines.
• Assisting others in the office with several projects – a knowledge sharing atmosphere.
• Preparing drawings and construction documents.
• Coordinating with other engineers, contractors, and suppliers during the design and installation process. Addressing any issues or problems that arise during the design and installation stages of a project.
• Conducting site visits and inspections to review progress of construction.

The ideal candidate:

• College diploma or equivalent work experience with a minimum of 10 years in mechanical design and drafting.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Plant 3D is a must.
• Working knowledge in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Raster Design, Smart Plant 3D/Smart Micro Station, Navisworks Manage, and SolidWorks.
• Proficient in designing plant layouts and piping systems with Plant 3D.
• Ability to take marked up engineering drawings and incorporate changes into AutoCAD files.
• ASME Code knowledge considered an asset.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with staff in a team environment as well as independently.
