Job summary

Company 3 in Toronto, ON (Remote) is seeking a Senior Pipeline Technical Director to design, develop, and maintain production tools and pipeline systems for cutting-edge VFX productions. You will work with artists and TDs in an Agile environment to streamline workflows and reduce bottlenecks.

Ideal candidates will have deep Python production experience, expertise with DCC tools like Nuke, Maya, Silhouette, and experience building CLI/UI tools with Qt/PySide.

Qualifications

• Strong experience designing and maintaining pipeline infrastructure in a VFX/animation studio.
• Proficient with Python in production environments.
• Experience with DCC applications such as Nuke, Maya, Silhouette.
• Familiarity with Qt/PySide for building UI.
• Ability to work remotely in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with artists, supervisors, and TDs to design and build production tools.
• Develop and maintain scalable pipeline systems across departments (rigging, shading, lighting, FX, etc.).
• Provide day-to-day technical support to artists and troubleshoot bottlenecks.
• Research and recommend new technologies, workflows, and automation strategies.
• Create clear, user-friendly documentation for tools and pipeline systems.
• Contribute to Agile sprints and communicate progress regularly with the team.
