Job summary

Sony Imageworks Vancouver is seeking Pipeline TDs for an Animation Pipeline Technical Director role in Vancouver. The position is full-time and involves working on CG and VFX productions with a focus on Maya/Python tool development and UI creation using PyQt/PySide.

Experience with Unreal, Katana, Houdini, and USD is a plus, along with a background in Unreal visualization workflows. A 2-year diploma or 1-year certificate is preferred, with 2–3 years of relevant experience acceptable.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Maya and Python programming.
• Experience creating user interfaces with PyQt/PySide.
• Experience with C++ is a plus.
• Knowledge of the Linux operating system.
• Understanding of the git version control system.
• Familiarity with Katana, Unreal, Houdini, and/or USD is a plus.
• Most desired: 2-year diploma or 1-year certificate, however a minimum of 2–3 years of relevant experience may be accepted.
• Experience working on CG and VFX productions.
• Extra Qualifications: Unreal Engine: Understanding of Unreal scene management, sequencer-based operations, data exchange between DCCs (Maya/Unreal), and experience supporting visualization workflows within Unreal. Knowledge of USD-based integration, Blueprint scripting within Unreal environments is a strong plus.
