Job summary

Arnett & Burgess Energy Services, based in Blackfalds, AB, seeks a Senior Construction Manager to lead large mainline pipeline projects from pursuit through closeout. The role involves frequent travel across Western Canada, extended site stays, and coordinating with a Senior Project Manager to deliver safe, on-spec builds.

Travel-heavy field leadership, CSA Z662 knowledge, and a background in valve sites and complex construction are essential.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of field experience executing mainline pipeline construction
• Valid class 5 driver\'s licence
• Willingness to spend majority of time in the field, including extended periods at project sites
• Experience with valve site assembly and installation, fabrication and tie-ins
• Experience with CSA Z662, client specs, welding procedures, NDE, and inspection/test plans
• Experience supporting estimating and bid development

Responsibilities

• Pursue, price, and win strategic RFPs, owning construction methodology and spread configuration in bids
• Develop construction execution plan with work breakdown, sequencing, and mobilization strategy
• Plan and oversee full mainline sequence, valve site work, and crossings (bores/HDDs/water crossings)
• Drive daily/weekly production with field leadership, managing costs, productivity, and equipment utilization
• Resolve field issues two weeks ahead to address ground conditions, access, weather, and resourcing
• Lead Superintendents and field teams and develop them into future Construction Managers
• Ensure compliance with CSA Z662 and client specifications across activities
• Collaborate with PM and client from bidding through closeout
• Drive punch lists, testing, cleanup, and reclamation to client acceptance
