Job Overview
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff. We deliver a range of services including acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health care to over 1.15 million people in our region.
We have one full-time (37 hours / week) and one part-time (22.2 hours / week) permanent position available, with shifts from Monday to Friday. Salary is pro-rata for part-time hours.
This role involves working with GPs and multidisciplinary teams to improve medicines management and patient care. Responsibilities include delivering pharmacotherapy services, supporting patients with medicines, and developing a clinical caseload as a prescriber.
You should be qualified as an independent prescriber or be willing to work towards this qualification. The role requires working within the NHS GGC primary care pharmacy team to enhance prescribing quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness, collaborating closely with GPs, practice staff, community pharmacists, and care home staff.
Candidate Requirements
Additional requirements include registration with PVG Scheme / Disclosure Scotland, ability to travel between practices and care homes, and experience working with primary care teams. Knowledge of GP systems is advantageous.
