Job summary

Morgan Construction & Environmental Ltd. is seeking a Payroll Leader to oversee Canadian and U.S. payroll operations. You will lead the payroll team, ensure compliance across provinces and jurisdictions, and drive continuous improvement in payroll processes and controls.

The role requires 10+ years of progressive payroll experience, strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, and experience with cross-border payroll. On-site in Edmonton with standard hours and occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Payroll law and regulatory reporting knowledge is essential.
• Experience with T4s, ROEs, WCB and year-end payroll filings.
• Ability to lead and develop payroll teams across multiple jurisdictions.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, coaching, and support to the payroll team.
• Establish expectations, priorities, and performance standards across the payroll team.
• Promote accountability, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing within the department.
• Ensure cross-training and succession planning to support business continuity.
