On behalf of our client, SWIM is seeking a Senior Payroll Clerk. Reporting to an experienced Payroll Manager, you'll work on processing multiple unionized payrolls for BC-based employees using various payroll systems. This is a 6-month contract with potential for extension or conversion to full-time employment. SWIM will provide a detailed job description to interested candidates.
Candidates should have at least 2 years of progressive payroll experience, including processing end-to-end payroll, special payments, onboarding, terminations, wage increases, retroactive pay, union dues, vacation, and statutory remittances.
Experience with unionized payroll following collective agreements is preferred but not required if the candidate has worked on large, complex payrolls. Experience with hourly payroll and timesheets is highly preferred; salaried payroll experience is also acceptable. Must have issued ROEs and T4s/T4As. Benefits administration experience is a plus. Pursuing PCP designation is beneficial.
The majority of employees are based in BC. Candidates should have experience with large, sophisticated payroll systems and Excel.
The client’s beautiful corporate office is located in North Vancouver. Free parking and easy transit access from the North Vancouver SeaBus terminal. The first 3 months are on-site; afterward, a hybrid work model is available.
Hourly rate of $32 to $34, with potential increases based on tenure. If converted to permanent, employees are eligible for overtime pay, pension matching, comprehensive health benefits, paid vacation, wellness perks, and professional development support.
