Job summary

VGS is building the platform powering agentic commerce and global payments infrastructure. We seek a Senior Software Engineer to design, scale, and fortify high-throughput payment systems with zero downtime, expanding Value-Added Services like Network Tokens and 3DS.

You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable systems, applying AI-native methods and modern SDLC practices for 10,000+ TPS with reliability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering in high-throughput distributed systems.
• Java & Spring/Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices.
• Event-driven architectures with Kafka/SQS; relational DB tuning.
• Docker, Kubernetes/EKS; AWS cloud experience.
• Secure coding practices; PCI-DSS/SOC2 awareness.
• Growth mindset, high agency, solving complex problems end-to-end.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize high-availability Java microservices.
• Integrate AI-augmented development tools into the SDLC.
• Build automated, self-healing services with GitOps & CI/CD.
• Configure telemetry with Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry; participate in on-call.
• Mentor engineers and champion code quality and testing.
• Own service functionality end-to-end with security and performance.
