Job summary

CBCL Limited in Fredericton, NB seeks an Industrial Electrical Technologist to join the Electrical & Instrumentation team. You will design electrical and instrumentation for industrial, water and municipal projects, producing precise drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.

Collaborate with engineers and multidisciplinary teams, contribute to field data collection, and ensure QA/QC compliant documentation. A Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology is required, with 5+ years of relevant drafting

Qualifications

  • Educational background: a Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent.
  • Experience: 5+ years in electrical drafting preferred; open to growth.
  • Technical: proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit for electrical designs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop electrical and instrumentation designs for industrial, water, and municipal projects.
  • Prepare detailed drawings using AutoCAD and Revit with accuracy and QA/QC adherence.
  • Perform design calculations and support project milestones.
  • Collaborate with engineers, utilities, contractors, and clients.
  • Assist field investigations and data collection of existing conditions.
  • Ensure documents are coordinated, thorough, and clearly presented.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Industrial Electrical Technologist to join our Electrical & Instrumentation team in Fredericton, NB. Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Innovate and Design: Contribute to the development of electrical and instrumentation designs for a variety of industrial, water and municipal projects;
  • Create with Precision: Prepare detailed electrical engineering drawings using AutoCAD and Revit, ensuring accuracy and adherence to Standards, Safety, and QA/QC policies;
  • Drive Projects Forward: Complete electrical design tasks and calculations crucial to project success;
  • Collaborate and Coordinate: Work closely with engineers and multidisciplinary teams, including utilities, equipment suppliers, contractors and clients;
  • Explore On-Site: Assist with field investigations, gathering essential data of existing conditions, and completing field observations; and
  • Ensure Excellence: Ensuring electrical design documents are coordinated, thorough and clear with strong attention to detail.
Your Capabilities and Credentials:
  • Educational Background: A Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent;
  • Experience: Over 5 years of relevant experience in electrical drafting is preferred, but we are open to candidates with less experience eager to learn and grow;
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, with ability to create and edit electrical designs;
  • Team Player: A collaborative mindset to work effectively within a team environment;
  • Organized and Detail-Oriented: Ability to multi-task, manage time effectively, and pay attention to detail; and
  • Effective Communications: Strong written and verbal communications.
What will Make You Stand Out:
  • Previous experience in a consulting engineering environment, specifically in industrial projects, is highly desired;
  • Certification as a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) or the ability to become registered would be considered a strong asset; and
  • Experience with AGI32 and/or ElumTools lighting simulation software, and SKM Power Tools is a plus.
