Job summary

CBCL Limited in Atlantic Canada invites an Intermediate to Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Electrical & Instrumentation team based in Halifax, Nova Scotia or Fredericton, New Brunswick. You will lead electrical design for industrial, water, and infrastructure projects and mentor junior engineers.

You will develop detailed designs, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, ensure compliance with electrical codes, and support on-site execution while focusing on safety, quality, and client

Qualifications

• A degree in Electrical Engineering is required, with registration or eligibility for registration with provincial Engineering Associations;
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant electrical engineering experience;
• Experience in electrical system design, including power distribution, lighting, control systems, and instrumentation, with in-depth knowledge of electrical codes;
• Proficiency in Revit for electrical design, coordination, and interdisciplinary project collaboration;
• Strong communication skills to effectively convey technical information, draft detailed reports, and work collaboratively with clients, multidisciplinary teams, and project stakeholders;
• Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines and deliver quality work on time and within budget.
• The ability to communicate in both English and French would be an asset.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure Safety & Quality: Incorporate safety standards and risk analysis into designs while ensuring projects adhere to electrical codes, standards, and best practices;
• Drive Business Growth: Engage in business development activities, including proposal preparation and client interaction; and
• Provide On-Site Expertise: Conduct site surveys, assess existing infrastructure, and oversee construction activities to ensure the successful execution of projects.

Your Capabilities and Credentials:

• A degree in Electrical Engineering is required, with registration or eligibility for registration with provincial Engineering Associations;
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant electrical engineering experience;
• Experience in electrical system design, including power distribution, lighting, control systems, and instrumentation, with in-depth knowledge of electrical codes;

Valued Experience

• Experience working in a consulting engineering environment is preferred;
• 10+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience;
• Electrical design experience in industrial, water, and/or wastewater; and
• Knowledge of PLC-based control systems and instrumentation.
• The ability to communicate in both English and French would be an asset.
