Placements24 is seeking a Senior Organic Chemist in Kimberley to join a leading pharmaceutical research team. The role focuses on designing and executing multi-step syntheses of novel organic molecules for drug discovery, with emphasis on optimizing yields and developing scalable routes.

The candidate will use advanced spectroscopic techniques (NMR, MS, IR), collaborate with medicinal chemists, and present findings at meetings and conferences, while maintaining rigorous safety and documentation

Formación

• PhD in Organic Chemistry or closely related field.
• 5+ years post-doctoral experience in synthetic organic chemistry.
• Proven expertise in designing and executing complex organic syntheses.
• Familiarity with medicinal chemistry principles is desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Design and execute multi-step synthesis of complex organic molecules.
• Optimize reaction conditions for yield, purity, and efficiency.
• Characterize synthesized compounds using NMR, MS, IR.
• Develop robust and scalable synthetic routes for potential drug candidates.
• Troubleshoot synthetic challenges and propose innovative solutions.
• Collaborate with medicinal chemists, biologists, and analytical chemists.
• Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks and document experimental procedures.
• Stay updated on advances in organic synthesis and medicinal chemistry.
• Present research findings at internal meetings and conferences.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols and quality standards.
