Job summary

Quantum Technology Recruiting Inc. presents an opportunity for a Senior Oracle Developer / Developer DBA in Toronto, hybrid (1–2 days per week).

You will design, build and optimize enterprise database solutions, collaborating with software engineers and architects to modernize data platforms. You will develop complex SQL/PLSQL, tune performance, own database delivery from design to deployment, and support multiple Agile projects.

Qualifications

• 8-12 years of Oracle database development experience.
• Advanced SQL and PL/SQL.
• Strong packages, stored procedures, data modelling and schema design experience.
• Hands-on performance tuning and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience delivering database work across multiple projects.
• Bash or similar scripting experience.
• Strong research, documentation and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with Liquibase, Oracle 19c/23ai, Exadata, ExaCC, Oracle APEX, Azure Synapse, Microsoft Fabric or financial services is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Develop complex SQL/PLSQL, packages and stored procedures.
• Design data models, schemas and database solutions.
• Troubleshoot performance issues and optimize queries.
• Own database delivery from design through deployment.
• Support two to three Agile application projects at a time.
• Introduce automated database deployments using Liquibase.
• Help modernize Oracle Forms applications using Oracle APEX.
• Support the transition from Talend toward Azure Synapse and Microsoft Fabric.
• Research and implement new Oracle tools and technologies.
• Use AI and GitHub Copilot for database development, code review and automation.
• Partner with developers, architects and production DBAs.
