Job summary

Advanced Microsystems Technologies (AMT), a technology division of Sanmina, seeks an innovative Senior Hardware Design Engineer to deliver high-performance optical data transceivers for AI and datacom markets. Qualifications

  • Minimum 12 years design experience.
  • Be a strong and clear communicator, able to capture and communicate complex concepts and their trade-offs.
  • Ability to work well with team members, suppliers and partners to lead the design solution.
  • Must be detail-oriented with high-quality outputs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical development with a cross-disciplinary team (electrical, PCB layout, mechanical, software, thermal, SI, MI).
  • PCB & Electrical design of electro-optical transceivers.
  • PCB design, including circuit design, schematic capture, and guiding the PCB layout engineer.
  • Work with SI/PI engineers to simulate performance, select PCB materials, stackup, and trace geometries to meet specs.
  • Power distribution and dissipation estimation and analysis.
  • Co-develop HW/SW IO architecture with SW engineering.
  • Collaborate with PCB fabricators and PCBA assemblers for manufacturability (DFM).
  • Guide the test development team, plan and execute prototype checkouts.
  • Participate in design reviews and regular status meetings.
  • Assist with project planning, estimation, and budgeting.
