Job summary

TBT Engineering Limited seeks an experienced Lead Land Surveyor to drive and contribute to diverse surveying projects in a growth-focused environment. You will apply advanced expertise in boundary determination, topographic surveying, and data analysis while mentoring staff and ensuring regulatory compliance.

You will guide junior staff, oversee safety planning, and support client engagement and proposals as part of a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Licensed as Ontario Land Surveyor (O.L.S.) or eligibility for registration.
• Experience of 5–10 years in cadastral, topographic and construction surveying.
• Proficient with surveying software (MicroSurvey) and strong analytical/communication skills.
• Proven experience leading projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage and execute land surveying projects including boundary and topographic surveys, construction layout, and as-built surveys.
• Prepare reference and registered plans for severances, subdivisions, condominiums, mining claims and Crown lands.
• Conduct field surveys with GPS, total stations, drones, and other equipment; oversee data collection and quality control.
• Prepare and review survey plans, reports, legal documents, and supporting technical drawings.
• Interpret property records and plans to support boundary determination and development projects; perform title searches.
• Coordinate with clients, municipal authorities, contractors, and teams to meet project objectives.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior/intermediate staff including health and safety oversight.
• Support business development through proposals and client engagement.
