What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be joining the Network Engineering team within CIBC Infrastructure Operations and Networks group. As a Senior Network Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the design, maintenance, and quality assurance of CIBC IT Infrastructure and Networks. You will be a subject matter expert on network designs and provide advisory to project teams.

How You’ll Succeed
- Leadership Skills - Act as the network team lead and provide advisory and expertise to ensure the project is on track to meet objectives. Support other team members by sharing knowledge, collaborating, and problem solving.
- Strong Communication Skills - You are a strong written/verbal communicator who is willing to speak up to ensure clear communication channels with team members and other teams. You are able to clearly communicate with different team members and teams while also being able to communicate to executive leadership when required.
- Technological Knowledge - Demonstrate strong technical experience in Networks Engineering planning and design, utilizing your skillset in a leadership capacity to drive progress and provide resolution to any issues that may arise.
Who You Are
- You can demonstrate 8+ years' experience in a large enterprise environment and practical working knowledge of networking, network security, Firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Checkpoint), VPN, routers, switches (Cisco), and knowledge of network analytical tools (Netscout, Netbrain). It is an asset if you have experience with network automation, load balancing (F5, Avi), API programming, and Cloud (Azure, AWS). You have expert experience in highly available/resilient wide-area networking architecture and design. Your knowledge of WAN technologies (MPLS/IPVPN/SDWAN), IPAM, DNS (Infoblox), NTP. You also have advanced knowledge and experience with BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VXLAN.
- You are an excellent communicator. You have solid written and oral communication skills and can produce a variety of business documents demonstrating command of language, clarity of thought, and orderliness of presentation. You can also effectively communicate verbally, including tone, style, and structure.
- You have the ability to manage multiple priorities. You can handle multiple concurrent objectives, projects, or activities, and make effective judgments in prioritization and time management.
- You possess decision-making and critical thinking skills. You are knowledgeable about tools and techniques for effective problem-solving using a broad range of factors, assumptions, frameworks, and perspectives.
- You understand that success is in the details. You notice things others might overlook, and your critical thinking informs your decision-making.
