What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be joining the Network Engineering team within CIBC Infrastructure Operations and Networks group. As a Senior Network Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the design, maintenance, and quality assurance of CIBC IT Infrastructure and Networks. You will serve as a subject matter expert on network designs and provide advisory support to project teams.

How You’ll Succeed
- Leadership Skills - Act as the network team lead, providing advisory and expertise to ensure project objectives are met. Support team members by sharing knowledge, collaborating, and problem-solving.
- Strong Communication Skills - Be a strong written and verbal communicator, capable of ensuring clear communication channels with team members and other teams, including conveying information to executive leadership when necessary.
- Technological Knowledge - Demonstrate strong technical experience in network engineering planning and design, using your skills in a leadership capacity to drive progress and resolve issues.
Who You Are
- You have 8+ years of experience in a large enterprise environment, with practical knowledge of networking, network security, firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Checkpoint), VPNs, routers, and switches (Cisco), and network analytical tools (Netscout, Netbrain). Experience with network automation, load balancing (F5, Avi), API programming, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) is an asset. You possess expert knowledge in highly available wide-area networking architecture and design, with familiarity in WAN technologies (MPLS/IPVPN/SDWAN), IPAM, DNS (Infoblox), NTP, and advanced protocols like BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VXLAN.
- You are an excellent communicator with strong written and oral skills, capable of producing clear business documents and effectively communicating with diverse audiences, including executive leadership.
- You can manage multiple priorities effectively, demonstrating good judgment in prioritization and time management.
- You possess decision-making and critical thinking skills, with an ability to analyze factors and frameworks to solve problems.
- You pay attention to details, with critical thinking skills that inform your decision-making process.
