Job description

Our client in the professional services sector is seeking a fulltime/permanent Network Engineer with experience across Industrial IoT, Wireless, and Core Networking technologies.

This is a client-facing role within our advanced network team supporting diverse sectors including mining, healthcare, government, education, and telecom.

Location: Mainly remote with some travel to client sites across Saskatchewan, Calgary, Winnipeg.

Key Responsibilities:

• Configure, deploy, and support network gear: routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless radios
• Troubleshoot complex network issues and validate infrastructure performance
• Conduct wireless coverage surveys and produce heatmaps (e.g., using Ekahau)
• Install and cable hardware in diverse settings: climate-controlled data centers, industrial sites, underground facilities
• Participate in secure, cloud-based deployments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Support virtual network platforms like VMware NSX and Cisco ACI
• Maintain detailed time tracking on all engagements
• Ensure personal and team safety (WHMIS, PPE, client-specific certifications as needed)
• Travel periodically within Western Canada for onsite implementation and troubleshooting

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on network engineering experience
• Strong knowledge of IP routing and switching, TCP/UDP, and L2/L3 concepts
• Experience with Cisco ISR/ASR, Catalyst, Nexus, Industrial Ethernet, ASA, Meraki, and wireless controllers
• Familiarity with protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, and VPN technologies
• Exposure to Palo Alto, Cisco ISE, RADIUS, and SD-WAN solutions (Viptela, Velocloud, Meraki)
• Working knowledge of industrial protocols like MODBUS, PROFINET, CIP, and BACnet over IP
• Certification: CCNA or CCNP (R&S or Wireless), CWNA considered an asset
• Ability and willingness to travel and work in a variety of physical environments
• Must be able to pass drug tests and WHMIS certification requirements
