Job summary

Myticas Consulting is seeking an experienced Network Service Engineer to design, implement, and optimize carrier-grade network services from Ottawa on-site four days a week. The role focuses on scalable architectures, reliability, and performance aligned with customer requirements.

You will lead network design and optimization, evaluate vendors, and collaborate across engineering and operations to deliver robust service solutions. Strong scripting and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Over 10 years in carrier and customer network design, operations, deployment, and support.
• Broad experience across network product design, development, verification, deployment, and support.
• Familiarity with Metro Ethernet Forum standards and Carrier Ethernet Services.

Responsibilities

• Design and support Layer 2/3 routing and switching to optimize network resource usage.
• Translate business needs into practical network solution designs with cross-functional teams.
• Develop strategies for partners to implement and manage network service architectures.
• Review product change requests, assess feasibility, document findings, and communicate impacts.
• Plan and evolve customer network architecture with emphasis on Layer 2 transparent networking.
• Identify opportunities to improve performance and optimize data network services.
• Perform network assessments and recommend improvements for health, efficiency, and SLA reporting.
• Document network requirements for hardware/software development teams, especially MEF 3.0 interfaces.
• Mentor and share knowledge with team members and customer-facing resources.
