McElhanney in Duncan, BC is seeking a skilled Municipal Engineer / Project Manager to lead design and delivery of municipal infrastructure across the Cowichan Valley and beyond. You will manage multidisciplinary teams, maintain client relationships, and ensure projects meet time, budget and quality targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering and 5+ years of experience managing municipal projects.
• Licensed as P.Eng. or P.L.Eng. with Engineers and Geoscientists BC.
• Proven client satisfaction and successful delivery of municipal infrastructure projects.
• Ability to attract and retain clients and secure new projects.
• Strong business development and leadership abilities.
• Experience working with government bodies, contractors, and developers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the detailed design and production of municipal engineering drawings and specs.
• Coordinate approval documents, cost estimates, tenders, and contracts.
• Chair project meetings with clients, consultants, and internal teams.
• Develop new business opportunities and strategic client relationships.
• Monitor progress, budgets, and quality to meet standards.
• Lead safety and quality management across project phases.
• Prepare technical reports and high‑quality proposals.
• Manage project financials and invoicing.
• Mentor junior engineers and staff.
