Job summary

Affirmer is seeking a skilled professional to join the Model Risk Management team. You will validate machine learning models used for credit underwriting, risk, and fraud detection, identify weaknesses, and collaborate to remediate findings.

This remote-first role offers broad cross-functional exposure within a dynamic risk framework and competitive pay in the Canadian market, with base pay range disclosed above.

Qualifications

• 4-6 years of professional experience in model development/validation or data science.
• Deep knowledge of ML modeling, credit underwriting, credit risk, or fraud risk.
• Proficient in Python and SQL with experience on large datasets.

Responsibilities

• Perform independent validation of ML models used for credit underwriting and fraud detection.
• Identify model weaknesses and propose improvements.
• Collaborate with model owners to remediate validation findings.
• Help implement and maintain the MRM framework across the company.
• Coordinate with Internal Audit, Controls, and Compliance on requests.
