Job summary

LawZero, a Montreal-based non-profit advancing safe-by-design AI, seeks a Senior ML Data Platform Developer to architect, implement, and scale the data engine powering frontier models. You will design ultra-low-latency storage and petabyte-scale pipelines, collaborating closely with Research and Product teams to evolve the data platform as an internal product.

You will bridge AI research and engineering, ensure datasets are versioned, reproducible, and datasheet-documented, and help build

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
• 5+ years designing and managing web-scale storage or large-scale ML data frameworks.
• Experience with Lustre, Ray, Spark, Arrow, Parquet.
• Experience with workload managers: Ray, Kubernetes, SLURM.
• Familiar with Docker, Enroot and vector databases.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain a layered storage architecture integrated with training pipelines.
• Scale and automate a petabyte-scale data processing stack.
• Optimize compute use, including GPU access for data tasks.
• Support provisioning of compute and storage with the Infrastructure team.
• Version, document, and trace datasets and transformations with datasheets per governance.
• Collaborate with Research and other teams to build tooling for dataset exploration and analysis.
