Job summary

EXP is seeking a Senior Mining Engineer (Independent Contractor) to lead mining design and project execution across underground and surface operations. Based in North Bay, ON, or other listed locations, you will evaluate technical and economic aspects and support business development for US mining operations.

You will prepare engineering calculations and reports, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure safety and quality while delivering projects on schedule and budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering or equivalent degree.
• Registered P.Eng.
• Minimum 15+ years project engineering experience.
• High level of proficiency underground mining design and planning software packages such as Deswik, Datamine, Vulcan, Surpac, or Minesight.
• Knowledge of mining-related processes a definite asset.
• Ability to function with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Inspect mining sites to determine the best ways to extract materials, including site visits and data analysis.
• Provide mining engineering and design services for underground mine studies (scoping to detailed design).
• Develop business development opportunities within the United States.
• Coordinate mining engineering projects with the mining team and other disciplines.
• Prepare mining equipment specifications and assist with procurement.
• Stamp documents and drawings as required.
• Support business development activities and client relationships.
