Job summary

EXP is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer for mining projects. You will lead a project design team across multiple sites in Canada, delivering mechanical layouts with Bentley OpenPlant and MicroStation.

The role emphasizes client coordination, design integrity, and meeting project milestones. You must have 15+ years in heavy industrial design, strong safety focus, and extensive experience with Bentley/OpenPlant or MicroStation.

Qualifications

• North American mining/mineral industry experience.
• 15+ years in heavy industrial design and layout.
• Experience with Bentley, OpenPlant or 3D MicroStation.
• Strong leadership, budgeting and scheduling skills.
• Commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead a project design team; coordinate with multidisciplinary members.
• Produce mechanical layouts and plant design using 2D/3D tools.
• Extract drawings from 3D models and perform model checks.
• Coordinate with clients and prepare deliverables and proposals.
• Mentor/design supervision and manage budgets/schedules.
