Job summary

Superior Gas Liquids in Calgary, AB, is seeking a Sr. Analyst, Midstream Optimization & Analytics to join our operations, logistics, and commercial teams. You'll analyze operational and market data, build forecasting models, and develop dashboards.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in midstream oil and gas, strong Power BI/SQL/VBA skills, experience with ETRM (RightAngle), Azure or Databricks, and a degree in a related field. This hybrid role offers growth and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in the midstream oil and gas sector, supporting operations, commercial teams, logistics, NGL marketing, supply optimization, or business analytics.
Track record of identifying and implementing opportunities that boost profitability, efficiency, or performance.
Strong understanding of midstream operations, NGL markets, commercial processes, and supply chain dynamics.
Advanced technical skills in Power BI, SQL, VBA, Power Query, and Excel; building multiple data sources into reporting solutions.
Experience with RightAngle or another ETRM platform is required.
Exposure to Azure, Databricks, Python, or modern analytics environments is an asset.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance, Business, Data Science, or related field.
Exceptional communication skills with ability to influence decisions across teams.
Curious, analytical mindset focused on improving how work gets done.
Comfort operating in a fast-moving environment with competing priorities.

Responsibilities

Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, optimize product flows, reduce risk, and create commercial value across midstream and NGL business.
Analyze operational, commercial, and market data to uncover trends, insights, and actionable recommendations.
Build and maintain forecasting models, analytical tools, and reporting solutions to support key decisions.
Partner with Commercial, Supply, Logistics, Operations, and Accounting teams to tackle challenges.
Support NGL pricing analysis, market intelligence, and supply-demand assessments.
Develop dashboards, automated reports, and scalable data solutions using Power BI, SQL, VBA, and related tools.
Translate complex analysis into clear recommendations for stakeholders and leaders across the business.
Drive automation, process improvement, and continuous innovation through data and analytics.
