Job summary

EHN Canada is seeking a Clinician to provide high quality case management, clinical treatment and advocacy for clients with trauma, PTSD and addiction issues. You will work with an interdisciplinary team, conduct individual and group therapy, and coordinate aftercare plans with referral sources.

The role includes coordinating care with families, preparing discharge summaries, and contributing to program development within a nationwide network of facilities.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Master’s degree program in Counselling, Social Work, Psychotherapy
• Registration in good standing as required by professional body, e.g. CCPA, BCACC, CCAC, NSCCT, Nova Scotia College of Social Workers.
• Experience is an asset however new graduates are encouraged to apply. Experience facilitating group programs and therapeutic groups is required.
• Experience working in a residential mental health and addiction treatment setting is considered a strong asset.
• Knowledge of abstinence-based community resources and supports is considered a strong asset.
• Knowledge of multiple treatment modalities including: cognitive behavior therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive processing Therapy, Accelerated Resolution Therapy, mindfulness, dialectical behavior therapy, and interpersonal therapy.
• Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance to company’s standards.
• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with all members of the health care team both within company and with external agencies.
• Exercise initiative and good judgement with ability to multi-task in a fast paced, challenging environment, often with competing priorities.
• Experience working with military and/or first responder cultures considered a strong asset.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development in mental health and addiction assessment and treatment is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual treatment, education and progress assessment using CBT, mindfulness, DBT, CPT, interpersonal therapy, and trauma-informed care.
• Facilitate abstinence-based, relapse prevention education for individuals and groups.
• Identify treatment goals with patients and coordinate across clinical teams when appropriate.
• Deliver high quality psychoeducational and process groups using evidence-based modalities.
• Coordinate case communication across an inter-professional team within the company and with external providers.
• Develop aftercare plans including referrals to abstinence-based recovery programs (e.g. AA, CA, NA, SMART).Prepare comprehensive discharge summaries in a timely manner.
• Complete detailed documentation and charting in line with company standards.
• Liaise with families, referral sources, community providers, EAP reps, and other members of the care circle regularly.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and maintain professional associations; provide documentation to HR.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including coverage in other programs as needed.
