Job summary

Interpro Pipe & Steel Inc. in Calgary, Alberta seeks a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to lead project management, design, and technical support across departments.

The candidate will apply knowledge of machinery, fabrication, welding, hydraulics, machining, and piping to deliver cost-effective solutions for equipment and plant processes. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (electrical experience preferred) and at least 10 years of hands-on project leadership in

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (with electrical experience, preferred).
• Minimum 10 years of experience managing projects involving equipment, buildings, machinery, process piping, cooling systems, combustion systems, pneumatics, power distribution, PLCs, drives, and other systems in heavy manufacturing; steel experience strongly preferred.
• Experience bringing large projects to completion by coordinating operating processes, project objectives, and management, maintenance, and project teams.
• Electrical experience with knowledge of machinery, fabrication, welding, hydraulics, machining, and piping.
• Experience troubleshooting complex manufacturing processes, mechanical systems and automation/control systems.
• Computer literacy with spreadsheets, word processing, AutoCAD, and project management software.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to write technical documents, specifications, contracts, and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting services to maintenance and operations departments.
• Recommend and manage capital projects.
• Remain current with Interpro Pipe & Steel business and manufacturing processes.
• Write project proposals, including business rules, process descriptions, controls, opportunities, costs and benefits.
• Write requirement specifications, high-level design and architecture specifications for projects and plant processes.
