Job summary

The Vancouver School Board seeks a Maintenance Supervisor to lead the Mechanical Portfolio, supervising Plumbing, Heating, Gasfitting, and Painting across ~250 buildings. You will direct maintenance, project work, and contractor activities while ensuring safety and compliance.

Reporting to Facilities leadership, you will manage budgets, staffing, and service delivery across the district, with in-person work at the Workshop and travel to various sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Red Seal Certification in Plumbing, Steamfitting/Pipefitting, Gasfitting, or related mechanical trade.
• Grade 12 completion is required.
• Minimum five years of progressive supervisory/management experience in a unionized setting.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Plumbing, Heating, Gasfitting, and Painting trades.
• Plan, organize, schedule, and monitor work activities across portfolios.
• Coordinate staffing and project priorities across multiple trades.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management to staff.
