Job summary

Aplin, in partnership with a Canadian nuclear industry manufacturer, seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Mechanical Fabrication in Niagara Falls, Ontario. This hands-on role bridges design and shop-floor execution, translating complex requirements into production-ready fabrication packages.

You will develop drawings, BOMs, routings, and production orders, while supporting inspection, tooling, fixtures, and equipment selection to drive manufacturability, quality, and safety improvements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 7+ years of engineering experience combining mechanical design with practical manufacturing or fabrication experience.
• Experience within heavy fabrication and industrial manufacturing environments preferred.
• C.E.T. or EIT designation is an asset.
• Strong SolidWorks drafting and fabrication drawing capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Review customer design specifications, fabrication drawings, and technical requirements.
• Identify and resolve design ambiguities and manufacturability constraints early in the project lifecycle.
• Provide real-time engineering support to Production to resolve fabrication challenges.
• Develop, review and release fabrication drawings, BOMs, routings, and production orders.
• Ensure fabrication packages are technically accurate, complete and ready for production.
• Develop and maintain accurate material BOMs and associated manufacturing information.
• Develop manufacturing routings, sequences, and operation requirements with Production.
• Create and maintain ERP BOMs, routings, and production documentation.
• Develop inputs for Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and QC documentation.
