Job summary

ABB Canada’s Electrification, Installation Products division seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer to modernize manufacturing operations in Montreal. You will optimize material flows, redesign layouts, implement new equipment, and contribute to ERP deployments within a 100% onsite role.

Reporting to the Operations Director, you will collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to create a safe, efficient, and future-ready facility that supports ABB’s growth in

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in a manufacturing engineering or operations improvement role within an industrial environment.
Demonstrated experience in production flow optimization, plant layout, and continuous improvement.
Hands-on experience planning and implementing manufacturing equipment or automation projects.
Experience participating in the implementation or improvement of an ERP system in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing methodologies and problem-solving tools.
Bilingual in French and English, both spoken and written. English is required to communicate with customers outside Quebec.

Responsibilities

Analyze and optimize material flows, movements, and operational organization to improve productivity and reduce waste.
Design and implement plant layout projects, including the reconfiguration of production, storage, and internal logistics areas.
Lead the acquisition, installation, and commissioning of new manufacturing equipment, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and operational objectives.
Actively participate in the implementation and improvement of ERP systems and other integrated management tools to optimize manufacturing processes and operational data management.
