Job summary

Carbon Upcycling Technologies is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Engineer to join its Calgary engineering team. The role supports design, development, and execution of mechanical systems for pilot, demonstration, and commercial-scale facilities, from concept through commissioning into operations.

This hands-on position offers exposure to rotating equipment, bulk material handling, piping, HVAC, and plant utilities, within a fast-paced, collaborative environment that values safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 12+ years in heavy industrial or operating plant environments.
• Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGA.
• Experience with rotating equipment, bulk material handling, piping.
• CAD software proficiency (Inventor preferred).

Responsibilities

• Design, review and optimize prototype lab-scale and demo equipment.
• Develop mechanical layouts, drawings and installation packages.
• Support procurement activities and factory acceptance testing.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams for integrated system design.
• Ensure safety, quality and compliance.
