Base pay range

CA$70.00/hr - CA$90.00/hr

  • This position contributes to the team responsible for the HVAC design of New Nuclear Power Plants. The Mechanical Engineer will perform activities within a team environment, working with a global team of partner organizations and suppliers to advance new plant detailed design and successfully deliver NPP projects.
  • This person contributes to the team responsible for HVAC design for the BWRX-300 power plant. The engineer will perform activities in a small team environment, working with GE engineers as well as other partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Support requirement and design progression for the BWRX HVAC design.
  • Assist in review of vendor supplier documentation associated with the BWRX HVAC systems.
  • Competency in computer programs and software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams.
  • Preparation and review of system design deliverables which include system design specifications, piping and instrument diagrams, heat load calculations, and equipment sizing for the BWRX-300 HVAC systems.
  • Manage project work schedules and priorities.
  • Provide on-time, quality delivery of equipment packages and engineering documentation in accordance with contract requirements, business procedures, and regulatory agency guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or greater in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or University.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in performing design, fabrication, and installation of steam turbines and supporting systems in nuclear or combined cycle plants.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in relevant Systems Design.
  • Expert knowledge of relevant design codes and requirements.
