Job Description

Sedgman is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Vancouver to plan and coordinate complex engineering design assignments involving technical specifications and detailed planning.

What does the role involve?

• Define and recommend design methods, specifications, and performance standards for new projects.
• Undertake or supervise the preparation of feasibility studies, surveys, reports, design layouts, system diagrams, specifications, bill of quantities, materials lists, and cost estimates.
• Provide drafting staff with necessary information to produce detailed drawings.
• Conduct site inspections and liaise with suppliers, clients, consultants, or commissioning engineers regarding design, installation, construction, and commissioning.
• Ensure project KPIs related to time and cost are met, monitor design effectiveness, scheduling, resource requirements, and review compliance with project plans and client expectations.
• Contribute to periodic reporting on project progress, resource needs, budget versus costs, priorities, and team needs.
• Ensure review processes are completed, and designs are accurate and compliant with relevant codes and standards.
• Follow Change Management processes for engineering design.
• Perform estimating, budgeting, and basic document control.
• Be flexible to travel to site as required.

What We Are Looking For

• Bachelor of Engineering
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in design, consultancy, or operational environments in engineering.
• Experience in coal, lithium, and / or metals industries.
• Experience in heavy industry environments.
• Peng Accreditation.
• Skills in MS Office, MS Access, MS Project, Helix software.
• Experience designing at least two of the following : Platework, Piping, or Chutes for industrial facilities.

The salary offered will consider education, experience, skills, location, and market conditions, ranging from 110,000.00 to 170,000.00 .
