Job summary

ecl.vincere.io in Edmonton seeks an Intermediate/Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead HVAC and piping design on building projects from concept through to completion. You will perform design calculations, learn standards, ensure code compliance, and mentor junior staff while coordinating with clients, architects, and trades to keep schedules and budgets on track.

The successful candidate will have strong technical skills, a self-starting attitude, and excellent collaboration abilities to deliver

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical HVAC and piping design.
• Proficient in design software, including AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of ASHRAE standards.
• Understanding of the Alberta Building Code.
• Strong technical competence and attention to detail.
• Self-starter who can work independently.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical system design (HVAC, Plumbing).
• Perform design calculations (heat loss, heat gain, flow).
• Learn the TWS design and drawing standards.
• Ensure design complies with codes and regulations.
• Work well independently or in a team.
• Ensure projects are completed within schedules and budgets to high quality standards.
• Mentorship of new and junior employees.
• Construction admin tasks: attend meetings with clients, write site instructions, review shop drawings, perform site reviews.
