Job summary

SCIEX in Concord, Ontario, Canada, is seeking an Associate Staff Research Scientist (applications) to drive innovation in mass spectrometry applications and to contribute to cross-functional research initiatives. The role emphasizes instrument control, AI and software development, with an on-site presence in Concord. Ideal candidates hold an M.Sc.

(Ph.D. preferred), 10+ years MS experience, and a strong publication record.

Qualifications

• Minimum of an M.Sc. in a related field such as Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, or similar (Ph.D. preferred).
• More than 10 years of mass spectrometry experience.
• Proven track record of research and innovation in applying MS to key areas such as Life Science Research, Pharma, Food, and Forensics.
• Proven publication record in the mass spectrometry field.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with analytical, problem-solving and innovation capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Identify existing and future customer needs and translate into innovative research opportunities.
• Mature research innovations into commercial technologies within cross-functional teams.
• Serve as an expert resource for marketing, product development, software, and manufacturing to achieve goals.
• Represent SCIEX at international conferences and customer meetings; support marketing efforts as needed.
• Perform technical evaluation of internal and external opportunities from an applications perspective.
