Job summary

SCIEX, a Danaher company, seeks a Hardware Engineering Co-op in Vaughan, ON, to work with cross-functional teams on Mass Spectrometer product design, development, and testing. The role is onsite at Sciex’ R&D Centre and reports to a Senior Engineer overseeing NPD, sustaining, and VAVE activities.

You will gain hands-on experience with CAD tools (SolidWorks), product requirements, verification plans, and AI automation within a fast-paced scientific instrumentation environment while contributing

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in either Mechanical, Electrical or Systems engineering (or related field).
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 within the curriculum is required.

Responsibilities

• Work with multi-disciplinary engineering teams and Sciex’ suppliers to understand product development considerations for Mass Spectrometer systems.
• Document customer needs, define system requirements, and create verification plans and protocols; perform basic risk and FMEA analysis.
• Collaborate with design team and suppliers to develop products focused on customer needs, manufacturability and serviceability.
• Perform basic system design and analysis (thermal, noise, reliability, DOE, simulated use testing) and support qualification plans.
• Identify, develop and implement AI automation in engineering areas and workflows.
• Present engineering results and status updates individually and in groups.
