Job summary

Hatch is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join its Ports & Terminals team in Halifax. You will lead structural design for ports, terminals and marine infrastructure, oversee technical teams, and ensure designs meet Hatch standards and client requirements.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 15 years in ports and marine engineering, a P.Eng. designation in Canada or eligibility, and demonstrated leadership across distributed teams. Travel to project sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering; master’s preferred in ports, marine or coastal engineering.
• Minimum 15 years of ports and marine engineering experience.
• P.Eng. designation in Canada or eligibility for registration.
• Experience with front end study delivery and client engagement.
• Experience leading distributed teams; French language a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design for ports, terminals, and marine facilities.
• Plan, analyse, and design bulkheads, wharves, piers, caissons, dolphins and mooring structures.
• Oversee delivery of port/marine studies and design documentation.
• Develop calculations, reports, design criteria and construction specs.
• Mentor graduates and coach teams; collaborate across disciplines.
• Travel to project sites as required.
