Title and Summary

Senior Managing Consultant, Strategy & Transformation - Cybersecurity - Advisors Services within Mastercard is responsible for acquiring, engaging, and retaining customers by managing fraud and risk, enhancing cybersecurity, and improving the digital payments experience. We provide value-added services and leverage expertise, data-driven insights, and execution. Our Advisors & Consulting Services team combines traditional management consulting with Mastercard’s rich data assets, proprietary platforms, and technologies to provide clients with powerful strategic insights and recommendations. Mastercard Advisors works with a diverse global customer base across industries, from banking and payments to retail and restaurants.

In this role, you will lead the delivery of multiple client engagements across direct and network distribution channels, industries, and types of projects, such as cybersecurity risk management, cyber crisis management, breach and attack simulations, and cyber threat intelligence. You will independently structure engagements to address client problems and support sales teams. You will lead and be a key resource to others to identify creative and useful analyses to address client cyber problems, synthesize analyses into clear, sound recommendations, and share findings through impactful storylines and deliverables.

In leading the problem-solving process to drive high-value decisions, you will mentor and coach junior teammates and contribute to Mastercard’s knowledge management and best practices. At Mastercard, you are expected to not only have a tremendous impact in transforming our clients but also play a leading role in shaping the future of cybersecurity services.

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Oversight and delivery of client projects and solutions for assessing risk exposure, protecting against attacks, and orchestrating continual improvements of cybersecurity.
  2. Assist with sales and product management activities such as technical pre-sales support and creation of product bundles.
  3. Lead the definition and development of deliverables to solve client problems, address and communicate difficult client situations, and produce actionable recommendations.
  4. Create a positive team environment and support collaboration across multiple teams to produce outstanding deliverables.
  5. Identify opportunities to leverage cybersecurity and other service capabilities, including cross-sell opportunities.
  6. Manage and collaborate with other resources on engagements to drive results, including engaging internal stakeholders from business development and client account management.
  7. End-to-end project management including planning, documentation, scheduling, finances, implementation, and measurement.
  8. Manage third parties, internal and external stakeholders.
  9. Serve as a trusted client business advisor and own senior client relationships from mid-level to C-suite.
  10. Ensure flawless delivery of cybersecurity services projects and solutions while maintaining the highest standards of quality.
  11. Identify, track, and mitigate risks and issues throughout the delivery of initiatives.
  12. Ensure completion of projects efficiently and cost-effectively, in line with deadlines and structures.
  13. Contribute to evolving our products supporting the global and regional product strategy.
  14. Build relationships with clients and key internal stakeholders as a cybersecurity subject matter expert and trusted engagement leader.

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years experience in cybersecurity advisory services within a consulting organization (Senior Manager or higher) with team management responsibility.
  • Experience with information security standards such as PCI-DSS, HIPAA, ISO27001, NIST, CIS, CSA, and hands-on experience in cybersecurity risk & controls assessments or audits.
  • Experience in assessing and building cybersecurity programs and solutions that balance protection and business needs.
  • Demonstrated experience with security technologies and processes like awareness and training, cloud security, crisis and incident response, third-party risk management, threat and vulnerability management, AI security, cyber risk quantification, web application firewalls, and identity theft protection.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to structure analyses from cybersecurity data.
  • Ability to build trust-based relationships with mid- and executive-level clients.
  • Strategic thinking with quick decision-making in challenging situations.
  • Industry savvy, understanding emerging cyber trends and market opportunities.
  • Experience managing relationships within a matrix organization structure.
  • Strong coordination and project management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment managing multiple requests.
  • Strong data analysis skills, translating cyber threat intelligence into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of storytelling and translating complex insights.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to identify new business opportunities and draft proposals.
  • Experience with payment ecosystem security and security models in financial services and other segments like healthcare, tech, manufacturing, media, energy, and utilities.
  • Experience designing and delivering large-scale cyber solutions to enhance customer engagement.
  • Certifications such as CISM, CISA, CRISC, CISSP, CCSP, ISO27001 Lead Auditor.
  • MBA or master’s in cybersecurity.
  • Proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese preferred.
