Job summary

MNP is seeking a Senior Manager to lead the Valuations team, overseeing business and IP valuations, fairness opinions, and financial models for M&A and financing transactions. You’ll mentor staff, manage engagements, and partner with client management, legal counsel, and financial advisors across Canada.

This role offers a competitive salary in the $120,000–$170,000 range with strong rewards, pension, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

  • CPA and CBV designations required.
  • 8–9 years of professional services experience in valuations.
  • Strong leadership, client-relations and strategic planning skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the valuation of business components for M&A, divestiture and execution.
  • Lead business valuations, IP valuations, fairness opinions, financial modelling and purchase price allocations.
  • Oversee IPO services and engagement with client management and advisers.
  • Mentor and coach team members and drive business development.

This diverse team of professionals works with clients on a wide range of business disputes and irregularities and applies qualitative techniques to accurately measure the value of their operations. Responsibilities
  • Oversee the valuation of the commercial benefits and risks of potential mergers and acquisitions and provide strategic advice to the parties regarding divestiture and merger and acquisition execution
  • Accountable for business valuations, intellectual property valuations, fairness opinions, financial modelling and purchase price allocations to help clients understand the value of their business and its components
  • Oversee IPO services such as investment broker/banker selection and issue pricing
  • Lead interactions with client management, stakeholders, legal counsel and financial advisors
  • Prepare and review cash flows, valuation models and other technical based analysis, projections and forecasts
  • Design and develop high-quality deliverables including engagement letters, reports, presentations and correspondence relating to merger, acquisition and financing transactions
  • Manage engagement planning and scheduling as well as project financials (budgets, WIP, timely billing, collection, variance recognition)
  • Identify innovative ways to deliver added value to clients; ensure client needs are met and relationships grow and develop
  • Maintain high quality control and apply specialized knowledge to anticipate, identify and address issues or key risks relevant to the client’s business
  • Network in the local business community, consider business development opportunities and lead the preparation and delivery of competitive proposals to meet client needs
  • Mentor, motivate and coach team members towards professional and personal development by setting clear expectations, providing feedback and conducting performance reviews
  • Contribute to strategic and operational planning related to client and practice management, as well as the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes
  • Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary
Skills and Experience
  • CPA and CBV designation
  • 8 to 9 years of professional services experience, primarily in financial analysis and valuations
  • Strong business and practice development skills
  • Proven people management, relationship building and leadership skills
  • Strong strategic planning and conceptual thinking skills
