Job summary

MNP is seeking an Associate for its Valuations team in Canada. You will contribute to business valuations, financial modelling, and client engagements, helping clients understand value drivers and support strategic decisions.

The role emphasizes accuracy, collaboration, and professional growth within a leading national advisory firm. The position offers exposure to diverse engagements across mid-market companies, with opportunities to develop technically advanced models and progress toward

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business (accounting or finance) required or equivalent.
  • CPA designation is an asset.
  • CBV designation or willingness to enrol in CBV program.
  • 1–3 years of professional services experience; high-calibre graduates considered.
  • Previous experience building complex financial models is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in business valuations, intellectual property valuations, fairness opinions, financial modelling and purchase price allocations.
  • Build complex and dynamic Excel-based financial models including three-statement and cash flow projections.
  • Interact with clients, stakeholders, legal counsel and financial advisors.
  • Conduct industry and market research on valuation trends and precedent transactions.
  • Prepare valuation models and deliver high-quality reports and presentations.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in business valuations, intellectual property valuations, fairness opinions, financial modelling and purchase price allocations to help clients understand the value of their business and its components
  • Work with a team to build complex and dynamic, excel based financial models, including three-statement and cash flow projections, scenario and sensitivity analysis, to support valuations and strategic decision making
  • Participate in interactions with clients, stakeholders, legal counsel and financial advisors
  • Conduct industry and market research on trends, valuation multiples for relevant public companies and precedent transactions
  • Analyze financial statements, projections and forecasts, prepare valuation models and perform other technical based analysis to support valuation conclusions
  • Design and develop high-quality deliverables including engagement letters, reports and presentations
  • Participate in business development initiatives and contribute to the preparation and delivery of competitive proposals
  • Work collaboratively with the client engagement team
  • Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary
Skills and Experience
  • Preferably a Bachelor’s degree in business (accounting or finance major)
  • CPA designation is an asset
  • Working towards a CBV designation or willingness to enrol in the program
  • Previous experience building complex financial models is preferred
  • 1 - 3 years of professional services experience. High calibre recent graduates will be considered.

The annual salary range for this position is: $55,000 - $75,000. Compensation is determined based on individual skills and relevant experience.
