Job description

Our client, a leading financial institution in Downtown Toronto, is looking for a Senior Manager, Sourcing, Global Procurement to proactively develop negotiation and contract strategies for high-risk, complex, and sensitive sourcing initiatives.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.

Typical Day in Role:

1. Work with the Director, Sourcing Execution, and the Manager, Sourcing Execution, to influence sourcing decisions, drive supplier consolidation, and achieve cost savings and avoidance.
2. Gather and analyze data to create playbooks and strategies supporting various business models for services under or contemplated for contract, and prepare findings for senior management.
3. Develop and negotiate complex contract strategies (strategically critical, high value, or high risk) that deliver cost-effective, sustainable solutions, and optimize total value from the supplier base.

Must-Have Skills:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• 7-10 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, and relationship management
• Knowledge of procurement law and regulations
• Experience leading complex deals valued at $3 million or more
• Strong business and financial acumen
• Excellent negotiation, contract, and analytical skills
• Experience managing stakeholder relationships
• Track record of achieving financial targets (e.g., $5MM savings personally, $25MM team targets)
• Previous experience within Financial Institutions or Banking sector

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with Ivalua or similar procurement tools
• Team player with multitasking abilities
• Business and financial insight
• Service-oriented mindset, building partnerships

Soft Skills:

• Ability to interpret complex documents

Education:

• Post-secondary education in Finance, Purchasing, or a related field; Procurement Certification is a plus
