Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an experienced engineering leader to guide a distributed team delivering Core Banking projects. You will shape technical direction, drive best practices, and ensure risk management compliance across onshore and offshore contractors.

You will mentor engineers, develop talent, and manage performance while collaborating with business partners to align roadmaps with organizational goals. The role emphasizes DevOps, APIs, and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Strong leadership and experience managing cross-functional technical teams.
• Ability to define, influence, and impact technical direction.
• Strong understanding of core banking systems, including accounts, deposits, loans, and payments.
• Experience deploying business-critical production solutions.
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools including Jenkins, GitHub, and UrbanCode.
• Proficiency with automated testing frameworks.
• Knowledge of enterprise security concepts and methodologies, including SSO, SSL, encryption, authentication, and role-based access controls.
• Strong systems knowledge, including programming languages, IT standards, methodologies, capability maturity model (CMM), audit requirements, and middleware technologies.
• Experience embedding AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude into development workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
• Nice-to-have: Experience working in a matrix organization within a large financial institution.
• Nice-to-have: Exposure to Personal/Commercial Banking, Wealth Management, and Capital Markets.
• Nice-to-have: Development experience on IBMi platform/COBOL400
