Job summary

RBC is seeking a Senior Manager, Reporting & Analytics in Toronto to lead data-driven decision support for branch network optimization, evaluating post-execution impact and delivering actionable insights for strategic initiatives.

The role requires blending analytical rigor with technical expertise, including SQL, Python, and Tableau/Power BI for visualization. Collaboration with Distribution Strategy and data teams is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Statistics, Business, or related field with strong attention to detail
  • Proven ability to translate complex data into strategic recommendations
  • Proficiency in SQL (or Python, Alteryx) for data manipulation and visualization tools
  • Experience with A/B testing and advanced Excel skills

Job Description
What is the opportunity?

The Reporting & Analytics team develops the high-level strategy for the physical distribution channel investment including planning, governance, business case development and post-execution performance reporting, as well as managing data requirements and analytics to support Physical Network Strategy initiatives. The Senior Manager, Reporting & Analytics will drive data-driven decision-making to optimize the branch network, evaluate post-execution performance, and deliver actionable insights for strategic initiatives. This role requires a blend of analytical rigor, technical expertise, and strategic thinking to inform critical business decisions.

What will you do?
  • Lead end-to-end analytics for branch network optimization, including branch, market and network assessments and customer behavior analysis.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards/reports in Tableau to track KPIs, monitor trends, and visualize insights for executive stakeholders.
  • Leverage SQL and advanced statistical techniques (e.g., regression, clustering) to extract, transform, and analyze large datasets.
  • Evaluate post-execution impact of network changes, identifying success metrics and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Distribution Strategy, peer data teams) to align analytics with business objectives.
  • Foster a culture of data-driven problem-solving.
What do you need to succeed?
Must have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Statistics, Business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.Very strong attention to detail, prioritizing completeness and accuracy in all activities
  • Proven ability to translate complex data into strategic recommendations.
  • Proficiency in SQL (or Python, Alteryx) for data manipulation and Tableau / Power BI for visualization.
  • Experience with A/B testing
  • Expert Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong Business Acumen with an understanding of retail banking operations, customer behavior, and capital expenditure management.
