LRO Staffing is recruiting on behalf of a well-established public accounting firm in Canada for a Senior Manager to lead the Private Enterprise practice. Based in the Markham, Ontario area, this full-time role requires on-site work 3–5 days per week with busy seasons fully on-site, and involves leading compilation engagements, reviewing staff work, and mentoring team members.

The role emphasizes advising owner-managed businesses, cross-border tax familiarity, and contribution to practice

Qualifications

• CPA designation required; US CPA strongly preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive public accounting experience focused on Private Enterprise / owner-managed businesses.
• Minimum 5 years of experience reviewing compilation engagements and related financial statements.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise, coach, and develop professional staff.
• Proficiency with tax preparation and practice management software.

Responsibilities

• Lead and review compilation engagements for privately-held corporations, partnerships, and sole proprietorships.
• Review Notice to Reader and Review Engagement files for technical accuracy and standards.
• Manage engagement workflows, timelines and file progress for Private Enterprise clients.
• Identify and resolve complex accounting and financial reporting issues.
• Participate in client meetings, onboarding, and business development activities.
• Oversee preparation and review of T2 corporate tax returns and related schedules.
• Review T1 personal tax returns for owner-managers, high-net-worth individuals, and families.
• Mentor, coach and develop staff at multiple levels.
