Job summary

Qualifications

• A university degree in Accounting/Finance with 4 years of related experience.
• CPA designation is required; those pursuing it will be considered with more experience.
• Experience with public sector accounting standards and pension/debt reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation of detailed working papers for debt balance and interest/amortization expense.
• Consult with Treasury and Risk Management on debt issues and reporting systems.
• Review disclosures and ensure alignment with debt-related statements.
• Incorporate changes to accounting standards across reporting processes.
• Collaborate with Controller's Office for investment schedules and information.
• Review and approve journal transactions supporting various investment accounts.
• Supervise senior accountants; manage performance and development.
• Research best practices in investments accounting and reporting.
• Provide guidance on investment reporting functions and issues.
• Oversee pension plan and fund financial statements under public sector standards.
• Coordinate with AIMCo and GoA on reporting and new debt management system.
