Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Act as an escalation point for complex system problems.
  • Mentor and technically guide engineering teams during projects.

Scope and Team

Scotiabank’s Global Technology Enterprise Platform (GTEP) – Global Network Engineering (GNE) mandate focuses on delivering a voice and data network that is highly available, resilient, and enables Scotiabank businesses to operate globally without barriers. The team provides end‑to‑end connectivity solutions for data centers, campus sites, and remote branches. This position’s operational priority is to support and provide technical leadership for LATAM operations, followed by Caribbean and Canada, collaborating closely with regional and global teams.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of Campus and Branches, you will lead and guide a team of engineers in the deployment, support, and continuous improvement of network and voice services. The team currently includes 8+ Latin American resources.

In this role, some travel may be required outside the Greater Toronto Area and you must be available as a 24x7 escalation point.

  • You want to be challenged with complex problem solving in time‑sensitive situations to reduce system downtime and customer impact.
Qualifications
  • Strong communication (verbal/written) skills in Spanish; English language proficiency is a strong plus.
  • Good interpersonal skills to build relationships with internal and external business partners and vendors.
  • At least 6+ years of technical experience managing a large group of network engineers/network analysts supporting, deploying, and interconnecting various network technologies at enterprise scale. Includes hiring, coaching, and performance management.
  • At least 8+ years of technical experience and knowledge in multi‑vendor environments at enterprise level, including LAN/WAN, Wi‑Fi, Cisco, Fortinet, F5, Infoblox, SD‑WAN, VoIP.
  • Superior problem‑solving and decision‑making skills, able to work under pressure in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong core foundation in fundamental network technologies and protocols.
  • Post‑secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering, Networking Technology, or a related field.
